This served on the Keokuk dam in Keokuk Iowa. It was built in 1917 by American Car Company. The type of railcar is "Transfer Caboose"

Transfer cabooses were used for switching and shunting operations and for crew to keep a lookout for equipment damage or overheating axles.

the Whistle Stop Caboose Lodge in Catawissa Pa was a train depot, and seems to be a bed and breakfast that is closed for winter, Nov-Mar... they seem to have 6 or 7 cabooses

Dad's, a diner in a historic train caboose in Half Moon Bay

Dad’s is a casual spot with serious flavor in Shoreline Station, a strip mall in Half Moon bay. 

Owned and operated by Chef Scott Clark, the eponymous "dad" who left the world of fine dining — during which time he was chef de cuisine at San Francisco’s three-Michelin-starred Saison,— after becoming a father. 

Beyond spending more time with his child, the luncheonette was an opportunity to return to the spontaneous excitement of cooking.

The Coopersville and Marne Railway (Michigan) is being memorialized by putting a 1912 Baldwin steam locomotive downtown after a cosmetic restoration, on the tracks through the middle of town (off I 96, between Grand Rapids and Muskegon) thank you George!

As you can see from the Google Street view, there are quite a few cool train cars, the locomotive before the restoration (below), a coal car, a couple diesels, a switching tower (or signal tower?) a caboose, a train station ticket booth, and a crane!

The Friends of Coopersville and Marne Railway operate a vintage diesel train between the City of Coopersville and the Village of Marne, following 7 miles of track originally built in 1858

Goldie is a 1903 caboose from the Duluth area that has been repurposed into an Air BNB, in the top 10 Glampys awards for 2022 (nightly under $200)
