I just found out I never posted about the Saleen S7, thank you George! Fewer than 100 street-legal S7s were ever built.

When the Twin Turbo arrived in 2005 with 750 hp and a claimed 248 mph top speed, the car entered territory occupied by only one other production vehicle on earth at the time: the Bugatti Veyron. The Veyron cost over $1 million. The S7 Twin Turbo was priced around $585,000, but the Saleen never officially set a top speed record to challenge the Veyron.

If road car performance wasn't enough, Saleen built a racing version to prove the point on track. The S7-R was a purpose-built competition variant, and 14 units were produced. It went up against some of the most powerful factory-backed programs in GT racing and won.

In the FIA GT Championship, the S7-R beat works-supported Ferrari and Maserati teams. These were not private operations, but manufacturer-backed efforts with full factory resources behind them. Saleen beat them anyway.

I hadn't heard of Saleen having an open house car show, in Corona Ca, annually, until just now

so, that's cool to know, and look forward to for next September.

Saleen has a concept race car designed to compete in GT4 racing series worldwide

Once Saleen’s GT4 concept car completes homologation approval and begins production, the expected price for each car will be $225,000

so, I have 2 questions, where's Jeremy Clarkson to weigh in on it's performance? And is the McLaren up for the competition in So Cal race car building?

Something I've never seen or heard of before, the Saleen Ranger

In 1988 they introduced the Sport Truck (Ranger). They produced produced 27 Rangers in 1988. Three were Race Trucks and 24 were sport trucks. All sport trucks were white with blue trim except one that was blue. They came with a 2.9L and were all 5-speed’s. They were all long bed’s.

Why?

Because in 1987 Steve Saleen went racing in the SCCA Coors Race Truck Challenge and captured two wins.

In 1991, Saleen won the SCCA Race Truck championship with five victories in six races which moved Steve into a tie for the most victories in the series, and provided Ford with the manufacturer’s championship.
