it's turning out to be a Smokey Yunick day, by coincidence! Lance is putting together a 55 Chev for his son... magnesium ZLI block, mag trans, mag Ramchargers Dana 60 for it, mag Hurst brakes, and mag Halibrands.

Lance says he bought these magnesium T10 cases for 20 bucks at a garage sale. He doesn't say that it wasn't Smokey's Garage sale - but, how damn cool to have some parts from Smokey?!?!?!

FYI, there is a single book, made from the 3 hardcover books, and used copies on Amazon start at about 130, on Ebay, there are a dozen copies and the price starts around 95.

Thrift Books Seattle has 2 copies and the other is for 155

the 3 book set is said to be fantastic, but ridiculously overpriced by anyone with a set for sale. I don't believe I've ever seen a set.... whoever owns the rights to the books, should really print a 2nd run, and make a killing from the imaginary demand for a 1200 dollar set of books. Sell them new for 100, and it's probably 40 dollars of profit.

There are 10 sets on Ebay, and everyone of them is stupid overpriced compared to the set for sale at 225 bucks

Before a paint job and starring role in American Graffiti, Falfa’s '55 Chevy starred in Two Lane Blacktop... and now it's getting restored to make it "movie accurate"

The car made its movie debut a long damn time ago, in a movie I haven't seen since the 80s, Two-Lane Blacktop, 2 years before American Graffiti.

In Two-Lane Blacktop, young James Taylor and Dennis Wilson (has any other half famous movie ever had a couple real musical A lister legends ever play non musician characters?)   portray a couple of no-name dudes cruising the southwest in search of drag races at the track and along the nation’s roadways.

Gary Kuchar's collection is coming to the Van Der Brink auction, and he had a hell of a wide variety of cars in his collection

that Mustang above the windshield? NOPE. This collection was picked over before the left overs were listed for auction. Most of them don't run, and you will see a Bobcat moving them for photos. But then, at these prices, you're paying for the rust free bodies, not running cars.

DeSoto Airflow

no info on the engine

has a 400 cu in. So, wtf is that doing in there? But it's a Phoenix, and those are cool

401 AMX Javelin

see the Bobcat? And this seems to be the only Mustang getting sold

Damn. I wish I could afford to buy this Bantam. I'd be so damn happy.

but someone that has always wanted an E Type Jag is going home thrilled!

there's a bunch of other cars, and trucks, and Scouts, etc etc
