Good article in 2024 Hagerty magazine issue
The article dives into MGAs
The MGA's design was loosely based on a factory-built race car for a privateer running the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1951, that was scrounged up using MG TD mechanicals by Syd Enever, who joined the company in the 1920s at the age of 14
The MGB was ultra rigid, a unibody, and MG's monocoque car, and resulted from contributions from Syd Enever.
The MGB GT had a sculpting assist from Pininfarina
SAIC Motor of Shanghai bought MG in 2007 by acquiring Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC), which had bought the brand from the defunct MG Rover Group in 2005. Currently, MG operates as a division within SAIC's passenger vehicle branch.

seen on todays walk

the one on the right has been under a car cover since 2007, the one on the left since 2017, and there's another in the garage with no front end. This home owner has 4 elks, and they don't run
this one above, from 2007 when it was in front of his place, and not under a car cover, is now around the corner. I shit you not, he doesn't even park it in front of his place anymore

these were an unusual surprise to find on the walk... I'm finally getting into a better neighborhood for cool cars
It's RARE to see a cool old mini. I don't know if I've seen one on walkabout before
MG Midget, I'm pretty sure
Nissan 300 ZX, once the big dog. I bet a properly sorted out example would be a good competitor for a Corvette. Based on the area being Mira Mesa, central area of all the fans of rice rockets, and ground zero of Fast and Furious fandom from day 1. Plus based on the looks of this, I'm guessing this was put into a permanent time out by the cops, and maybe the owner has some nutty idea about hanging onto this instead of selling it, in order to fix it up... like every nutter without a plan does.

MG, owned by China's SAIC, was debuted at Goodwood, and is due to go on sale in Europe and China in just a few months, becoming the first mass-market electric drop-top of the decade.
It will be available in single- and dual-motor form, with the base RWD version set to offer 310 hp, while the dual-motor version will dial that up to 536 hp.
It will also offer a couple of battery options, with the smaller of the two offering 64 kWh, expected to land a bit south of the 300-mile mark, while the larger 77-kWh unit should be able to stretch its range up to 370 miles.

Richard Hammond, tv show goofball and the owner of a classic car repair shop called The Smallest Cog, may also soon run a racing team known as Team Smallest Cog. His '72 MGB GT puts the "Tea in Team" I see on the hood
He explains that the car will be a way to advertise his garage to passionate owners who want their classics fixed. “So I am going to take that racing as Team Smallest Cog, and we are going to race alongside people with other classic cars, and they are going to learn to know us,” Hammond says.
“And when we watch them scrape their car down a wall and into the tires, we’ll be racing alongside them. I shall give them a business card, and hopefully they’ll give the car to us to straighten.”

Gary Kuchar's collection is coming to the Van Der Brink auction, and he had a hell of a wide variety of cars in his collection
that Mustang above the windshield? NOPE. This collection was picked over before the left overs were listed for auction. Most of them don't run, and you will see a Bobcat moving them for photos. But then, at these prices, you're paying for the rust free bodies, not running cars.
DeSoto Airflow
no info on the engine
has a 400 cu in. So, wtf is that doing in there? But it's a Phoenix, and those are cool
401 AMX Javelin
see the Bobcat? And this seems to be the only Mustang getting sold
Damn. I wish I could afford to buy this Bantam. I'd be so damn happy.
but someone that has always wanted an E Type Jag is going home thrilled!
there's a bunch of other cars, and trucks, and Scouts, etc etc
