inspired by Dean Moon's Cheetah maybe, or the Renntransporter, this is a cool old hauler I've never seen before

if you're not familiar, back in 1960ish, a Norman Holtkamp made a transporter called the Cheetah and it was sold to Dean Moon who is more famous and associated with it among hot rodders

it was inspired by the Mercedes factory race car transporter, named Renntransporter, which could go 105 mph, as it got a race car engine so it could zip along the Autobahn to get the race car to races

  1. Jesse, the one in the middle picture may be the same one Geoff Hacker of Forgotten Fiberglas has at his place in Tampa. The cab and it's placement look identical.

    1. yes, it is that same vehicle, but I didn't go into the present condition and location of the Cheetah and the Renntransport, it's not relevant to the post

    2. Thanks. I dug through pictures forever trying to find the source for that bumper. Those turn signals had me digging through every 60s ford, and the dip in the middle, looks like it belongs on the back of an early 60s dodge. But the overall shape, and the placement of the bolts. Its just the Corvair bumper with dips added for the headlighs, and the one in the center.
