WHOA! This is terrific! I found another Hot Wheels designer's work (in addition to Larry and Brendon) when by surprise I come across a cool hot rod (spotted at Rømø!) has it's own Hot Wheels! Old Red Racing Team (Denmark chapter) !
I wonder if this is a timing tag?!?! But damn instagram doesn't have the large screen format that You Tube has, doesn't have the setting change ability to get high def, see the video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DLLSvuIBWsd/
Or see the hot rod at Rømø!
the Torque Test Channel on YouTube tested a handful of methods and tools for removing oil filters... there's a CRUSHING tool out there which ain't satisfied until that damn filter is WRECKED! I love it!
The three-jaw style was capable of over 100 foot-pounds of twist on an oil filter. One of the filter housings began to spin at the pressed joint between the housing and the mounting plate. Of course, most of these tools destroyed the filter, which is fine if it is successful.
this is cool news, Larry Chen's last 20 years of photography are now available in his book, Life at Shutter Speed, a 400+ page artistic compilation with 20 chapters, one for each year of his career.
He was selling two editions, the regular, for 125, and the special, and it doesn't matter what that cost, as they are all sold... and this is months before the books even ship out.

I just spotted this on my uncles Facebook post, the GT 350 jacket grandpa was given when he bought his 65 Cobra Mustang (SFM5S294)
I'd posted the car when I first learned in 2009, that my dad's father had bought this, as somehow, no one though I'd find it interesting to know that there had once been this very cool car in the family.
https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-recently-learned-that-my-granddad-had.html
Only 2 photos of the car even exist, and the above, was a negative that was found by accident recently when emptying a house that an aunt had moved out of due to old age and health reasons. She's lived there about 60 years.
My uncle had never mentioned the jacket until now, but really, he probably had forgotten all about it. I don't remember most of the jackets I've ever had.
the actress who played Pam Beesly on the NBC sitcom The Office, is Regina Kirk, known professionally as Jenna Fischer, and before her accomplishing a successful career in tv and movies, she spent 3 summers drying cars off at a St Louis car wash on Manchester Rd
She worked at a car wash in St. Louis when she was 16 years old, and she "fell in love and never stopped" wearing baseball hats after working there.
So be cool to the teens working summer jobs, some will go on to be famous, and you don't want them to ever remember you being the cause of their worst day!
a collector who owned 31 vehicles hired a mechanic to restore them—but the process stopped at disassembly, and the whole mess was sold off because that owner died. (thank you George!)
Among the more polished cars in this barn find treasure trove is a 1931 Cadillac, a 1936 Lincoln V12 once owned by Ringling Bros. heir Richard T. Ringling, and then there is the problems, A Lamborghini with no engine and a Jaguar E-Type with its V12 sitting in a crate.
the new owner runs some car auction company, so, it's not likely that he wants to keep these
The Solomon Curve shows you're more likely to crash driving below the traffic flow than slightly above it. Slower speeds disrupt the rhythm and increase conflict points.
The Solomon curve is a graphical representation of the collision rate of automobiles as a function of their speed compared to the average vehicle speed on the same road. The curve was based on research conducted by David Solomon in the late 1950s and published in 1964
In a landmark study of speed and crashes involving 10,000 drivers on 600 miles (970 kilometers) of rural highways, Solomon (1964) found a relationship between vehicle speed and crash incidence that is illustrated by a U–shaped curve. Crash rates were lowest for travel speeds near the mean speed of traffic, and increased with greater deviations above and below the mean.

I'd never heard of the Solomon Curve until just now, so I'm posting it right now... and I've never heard of “Stannard’s Law” which states “drivers tend to explain their traffic accidents by reporting circumstances of lowest culpability compatible with credibility (Aronoff, 1971)”

if this seems familiar, it's because I just learned of this family garage business last year https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2024/06/one-of-one-feature-documentary-filmed.html

coolest thing I saw today thanks to my buddy Mike!
From 1962-82 small Wheel Horse tractors were used to push or tow race cars to and from the racetrack at the Indianapolis 500. Wheel Horse tractors, ( primarily sold at dealerships in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio) The Official Work Horse of the “500.”
Beginning in 1961, Wheel Horse loaned approximately 40 new tractors to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for use by race teams to tow their cars around the pits for the testing and racing activities during the month of May. A promotion dubbed the Indy 2 ½ was even created as the kickoff event, where the tractors were paraded from flagship distributor Radio Equipment Co. in Indianapolis to the speedway and then raced one lap around the famed 2.5 mile Brickyard piloted by dealers and other local media personalities. The publicity stunt was a huge success for Wheel Horse, and later advertising would tout Wheel Horse tractors as The Official Work Horse of the “500.”

She estimates that she has spent over $50,000 on the renovations.
Costs included purchasing a camper, adding solar power, replacing the truck bed, upgrading the suspension, new tires, customizing a bumper, and installing an electric cooler.
When the truck was ready, Kaye decided to journey the Pan-American Highway, starting in Denver. The highway stretches from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina.
Since living and traveling in the truck full-time, Kaye has visited Mexico, every country in Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and parts of Argentina. In total, she’s been to over 20 countries so far.
Kaye says when she was younger, it was her dad who taught her that she was capable of anything.
“I grew up with my dad raising me and telling me every day ‘You can be anything you want when you grow up and you can do anything,’” she says. “He was 57 when he passed away, so he never even got to retire. His passing taught me how to live life because you never know how much time you have in life.”
U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Gaven Skyles, an aircraft rescue and firefighting specialist with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, was named the 2024 USMC Military Firefighter of the Year!
"Sgt. Skyles is one of the most dedicated and hardworking NCOs I have had the privilege of working with,” says Chief Warrant Officer Eric Cox, Skyles’ Officer-in-Charge, “He has shown unwavering commitment to personal and professional development, consistently striving to improve both himself and those around him in his role as an aircraft rescue firefighter. His contributions extend beyond the Marine Corps, serving as a valuable asset to both the Miramar fire department and the San Diego fire community. Sgt. Skyles dedication to his craft is evident through his voluntary service as an emergency medical technician during liberty periods, consistently supporting both San Diego and Miramar fire operations. His leadership and work ethic make him an ideal candidate for any position, and it has been an honor to collaborate with him."
Skyles says that aircraft salvage operations are the most rewarding and unique part of his military occupational specialty. During these operations, he carefully recovers parts of crashed aircraft for repurpose and investigation boards. When there is an aircraft recovery, his knowledge of aircrafts, the capabilities of rescue equipment, and the skillset of his Marines are put to the test and utilizes his training and preparation in real life scenarios.

few cutaway mechanic training cars have been made as carefully and comprehensively done as this VW Beetle at the air-cooled Volkswagen show in Effingham, Illinois.
It is owned by Mike Yager of Mid America Motorworks, and was featured in a book The Complete Book of Classic Volkswagens https://api.pageplace.de/preview/DT0400.9780760359358_A30446283/preview-9780760359358_A30446283.pdf
a steam train (!) delivered the third Gromit Unleashed trail sculptures designed by firms including animation studio, Pixar, at Bristol Harbourside. The sculptures on on display, then sold at auction, and ‘Gromit Lightyear’ raised £65,000, alone, in 2016
The heritage train was loaded with a dozen unique character sculptures and driven by Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park to mark the start of Gromit Unleashed 3.
The sculpture trail is a joint initiative by The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity, and multi-award winning independent studio Aardman.
The harbour railway train was greeted by school children before one of the sculptures was lifted onto the harbour’s heritage cranes and another sent off to its summer location onboard Bristol’s former fire-boat, the Pyronaut.
for over 27 years Aardman and Gromit Unleashed has raised millions of pounds to support sick children and their families at Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as the hospitals’ dedicated charity.
Different artists design a Gromit to reflect their well known brand, like Pixar, but very surprising to me, is that Paul McCartney designed one as the Yellow Submarine!
For a list of the Gromit art pieces, and their descriptions
He signed one of the ears. .. that's pretty cool!
