a private collection of Shelby Mustangs and Cobras switches over to public museum (a frequent result of large car collections due to taxes) in Irvine, grand opening in October

Petrolicious did a good article and gallery on the collection back in 2016  https://petrolicious.com/articles/why-is-the-segerstrom-collection-filled-with-the-rarest-shelbys-ever

So did Autoweek, and had this to say;

The collection is huge and it is magnificent. But it is not just meant to sit there and gather dust. Segerstrom has a higher purpose for it all, once he finds the right place to put it.

 “When we relocate the collection, it is our plan to open it as an event center and museum; it will be open to the public,” Ted Segerstrom said. “Our life work now is to start a foundation to support the Shriners Children's Hospital in Pasadena. All financial profit from the foundation will be used to benefit the hospital.”

And now it's time has come to open up: https://segerstromshelbyeventcenter.com
