don't they teach kids to look before walking out into traffic?

  1. I have an over developed sense of self preservation but I sure wouldn't have thought to watch for a car sailing up a suburban shoulder either. High praises to the attentive driver, even though I'm grinding my teeth when trapped behind those yellow bastards.

  2. Looks like the bus isn't parked up next to the kerb. A big no-no.

    1. I think that you're both correct, they aren't near a curb, but, look at the curb area... you'll see there isn't one. This is out of the city, that's why they are on a bus, and there is a wide shoulder a car width wide for biking. That car decided to zip past on the shoulder - nearly a manslaughter offence - and there's only 2 outcomes to that... they get lucky, or they kill a kid. That bus was possibly able to pull over farther, to the dirt, or the ditch... and yes, I can agree they ought to

  3. There's a bus driver on the ball who should get a commendation! I'm betting she was watching her mirrors because she's seen that happen before.

    1. Yes, I don't live to fare from Norwich, it's a beautiful town, and I love visiting the Antique Car Museum there not to forget the great Father's Day Car show at the fair grounds there.

See the woman sitting behind the driver to the right? She looks to be a bus monitor. She should be watching too. Fortunately the driver saw it coming and saved the kid. Yes, she does deserve some sort of accommodation.
