On July 24, the DMV will close offices statewide to re-train employees on customer service skills and better prepare them to process REAL ID transactions.

It says it's doing this to better prepare employees to process REAL ID transactions and reinforce training on providing "excellent" customer service.

The training will take place at 183 DMV field officers and more than 5,000 employees will receive the training at their home offices, which will open for business at 1 p.m.

  1. wonder why Cali wited to the last minute ?
Georgia started doing the Real ID drivers license in 2012 and no one had to scramble, when your DL expired, you had to provide the real ID docs, and since the DLs were good for five years, you just did it when you re new'ed your DL

    1. Because in California, there's 51 different Genders, so California DMV Workers needed additional Training so they don't offend anybody...The last thing the DMV wants is a Twitter Rant when someone get's miss identified.
