"Look, Ahhm Publicly Drunk"! LAPD's new acronym now that LAPD Commander Nicole Mehringer and Sgt. James Kelly were found blotto, IN A COP CAR, around 1am in Glendale... FOUR MONTHS AGO

Kelly’s blood-alcohol concentration was .20 percent or more.

The two were found around seated inside the black Dodge Charger sedan on April 27 near Lomita Avenue and Brand Boulevard, by the Glendale Police Department who noticed that their undercover Charger "had come to a rest against another vehicle" AKA, DUI, passed out at the wheel and they crashed into another car that prevented their cop car from continuing on - with no one awake at the wheel.

Officers determined that Kelly was under the influence, while Mehringer, who also showed signs of intoxication, became belligerent. It took officers about 20 minutes to get them out of the police cruiser, which had rolled into a silver Mercedes-Benz.

Seated means they were passed OUT. It took over 10 minutes for them to wake up AFTER a tow truck driver had to open the door.

Mehringer and Kelly were assigned to the department's Employee Relations Group, the LAPD said at the time of the arrest.

Police Chief Charlie Beck was likely hoping to be out of office before this finally made it into the news.

Mehringer is one of only 20 commanders in the department who report directly to Chief Charlie Beck. She was promoted in March 2017 to run the agency's Employee Relations Group.

Both drunks have been on paid admin leave for the past 4 months while waiting for the blood test to come back before he got charged.

  1. MONTHS before Kelly's blood/alcohol test level comes back? BULL! They already have the results. That just a BS smoke screen. Both the commander and the sergeant better start looking for another job.
