John Wayne, on the set of Big Jake, 1970... have you taken a close look at the motorcycle?

there is a odd plate and tube on the rear fender, and in front of the engine, and some thing bolted onto the the top of the front forks

but what's written on the gas tank under the word Honda?  Something about who donated the motorcycle, or what shop worked on it?

  1. There's also a steering stabilizer. My guess is those are brackets for cameras. Could be the name under the Honda logo is the shop that did the modifications.

  2. PS, "Big Jake' is set in 1909, and so there's actually a motorcycle in it, allegedly a Montessa Cappra so I guess it would make sense to have a dirt bike set up with cameras to get action scenes.

    1. I wish you could see the email I got from Steve with that Montesa Cappra 250, you'd be impressed! And you just hit on something that hadn't even occurred to me, just why is John Wayne on that Honda, what's the Honda for... you've got it, it must be for camera work because of the other bike!

    1. I wish you could see the email Steve sent me with every motorcycle that John Wayne was ever photographed on, even a 3 wheeler from the late 70s early 80s, the ones with the huge soft tires.
But I'm not posting about every motorcycle he's been photographed with

  4. and lots of holes in an extra bracket right in front of the rear shock
when I was a kid I owned a bike just like that,
its either a SL-175 or SL-350 which was a dual sport version of the CB-175/350
