  1. Straddle carrier. The modern version is gigantic, and used to move containers at shipping ports.

  2. In the Northern California logging country they used to he called "straddlebuggies". A friend of mine has two of them that belonged to his father.

  3. Have those running around on Naval Bases delivering warehouse pallets of supplies to the ships in port.

  4. Fairly common in lumber yards in the '50s. Ones near where I grew up had several of them.
