14-year-old driving SUV full of egg-throwing teens faces murder charge after deadly crash in Texas

a 14-year-old male driver and two teenage passengers were inside a GMC Acadia Tuesday afternoon, throwing eggs at cars driving by on a road in Aldine, when the driver of one of those cars allegedly pulled a gun and gave chase

The boys fled in the SUV, ran a red light, and t boned a Ford F-150 truck, police say—killing its iinocent driver, 45-year-old Silvia Zavala, “seems she had just gone shopping based on some debris strewn at scene,” tweeted Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

And that's why 14 year olds aren't allowed to legally drive, and even older teens aren't allowed to drive with other teens.

Parents? What happened to keeping your kids from doing stupid things?

  1. Throwing eggs at cars is pretty stupid, but pulling a gun because of that, and then giving chase, is not something a (presumably) grownup should do. Frankly, if someone was waving a gun at me, for any reason, trying to get the hell away as fast as possible seems rational. I guess the gun-waver wasn't smart enough to foresee, that chasing a dumb and scared teenager could result in a traffic accident.

Having been 14 years old at some point in my life, I know well to what extent my parents could keep me from doing stupid things, which wasn't all that much. Fortunately my idea of having fun never included vandalism, but the kids I knew who were trouble, rarely had parents who would, or could, care about what they did.

  2. The parents brought them into the world, and can also take them out and make more.

  3. Two questions:

    1) Will the 14 year old with the murder charge be tried as an adult?
    2) Why a murder charge, instead of 'vehicular homicide' (a term I've read about - I'm not 100% up-to-date on US legal system)?
    3) Will the guy threatening the kids be penalized in any way? I know it happened in Texas, but still...

  4. What the kids did is inexcusable and the gun toting driver too. ALL MORONS!!
But your comment indicates you do not have kids. "Parents? What happened to keeping your kids from doing stupid things?" Your ignorance is understood.
