1959 Ikarus 303 for Kim!

  1. As your resident Hungarian, I can't stand: That is "Ikarus". We prenounce "k" and "c" very differently, it would sound very differently. 303 was never made it into mass production. Only 9 examples - all hand built prototypes - were made. Simply it was too expensive.

    1. there isn't any audio in the text, so, whatever the reader's brain translates it to sound like, is what they believe it sounds like. It could be spelled eckuerest, and sound the very same.
I never post based on production, only on cool... so, that is why I don't exclude preprodution, concept, prototype, handmade, garage built, coachbuilt, or custom.
And hey... ! I've got a resident Hungarian now? Now THAT's cool! Thanks!

  2. Sorry Jesse, please don't take it wrong, I just wanted to add short but somewhat interesting facts. I was a bit surprised to see, Ikarus have a good wikipedia page in English. If anybody is interested it might worth take a look:

I can't be more agree with you, the 303 is cool. I wish it could make it to production. But my personal favorite, Ikarus 55 did! Let me invite you to take a look! I have never seen anything more beutiful thing on the road this big - OK, Futurliner probably. It is like those spaceships from the fifties movies.

This is the prototype - original newsreel footage:

You will find countless other videos if you look for Ikarus 55.
