He's quite a character. Also intelligent enough to recognise his shortcomings and quit the TT (Isle of Man Tourist Trophy) before his near death experiences became fatal.
He sure is entertaining, and that he was running in the senior unlimited TT, is enough of an accomplishment, though he didn't get 1st or 2nd (if I recall correctly) he was there and survived. There are so very few who can win that race, in any era. I think he'd have done better if Honda hadn't let him down disasterously

DeleteHe never won one, but thankfully his survival instinct kicked in early enough to prevent another tragic loss.
