1961 Century Restorer speedboat once owned by President John F. Kennedy was just auctioned for 75k

This boat was won by JFK's father in a church raffle and it became John F. Kennedy's personal boat, as his brother Robert F. Kennedy already had a 1962 Century Coronado 21.

Prior to this, the senior Mr. Kennedy had a boat named "TENOVUS, "referring to the "ten of us" - the 10 members that made up the Kennedy family at the time.

Inasmuch as the family was expanding, this boat was lightheartedly named "RESTOFUS."

Senator Ted Kennedy was quoted as saying, "My brother Jack drove that boat like it was PT-109. He was a little rough on it."

In another interesting anecdote, apparently President Lyndon Johnson wanted a Century like John Kennedy, but the company wouldn't give him one for free, so he had to settle for a different manufacturer's boat.
