I forgot Dodge is wasting our time rolling out the Demon advertising, here are the recent two vids

And Hot Rod has this:

the Demon will be the first-ever factory production car built with drag radials from the factory; unique 18 x 11-inch wheels with“Demon Branded” 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R tires front and rear, (the current Challenger has a 245/45R20, and they’re 10 mm larger than the previous biggest front tires fitted to the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. That width also makes these the widest front tires ever fitted to a production car.

The Demon will be 200 pounds lighter than a Hellcat also. That's about 5%

So, is this a drag pack not street legal car? or do the figure that like the Viper, no one drives them daily anyway...

  1. If it is supposed to be a drag racer, why are they putting 315s on the front. Shouldn't they have a narrow front tire to reduce weight and rolling resistance?

Did you notice the license plate in the video- "#2576@35"? There's a lot of speculation on the interwebs about what that means. The most logical thing I've seen is 2576cc blower displacement at 35 inches of Mercury. The Hellcat blower is 2380cc at 11.6 psi.

    1. It's a 200 mph car. That is going to take some meat on the front to slow it down, and it's negligible how little the effect would be drag racing, no pro is going to have stock rubber on it at the track if they are going for a trophy, and no amateur is going to spring for a 2nd set of tires and rims.

    2. I did notice the licence plate, it's bugging me that it will turn out to be significant

  2. I asked my friend at SRT about the license plate, and he said he's not up high enough to know what it means. He's in the dark like everyone else. Today's video shows a crate of parts, extra wheels, a jack, impact wrench and torque wrench that come with the car.

It's possible they put the cheater slicks all around because it will have all-wheel-drive, but Dodge would have to have a system that could handle a lot of torque. They are also claiming about 200 pounds less weight, so they would have to remove a lot to add another axle and have a net weight loss.

    1. Shouldn't you spend your time better and ask him to borrow some SRT keys? Ha! Anyway, I read it's getting the new Challenger version of AWD, the front tires are only powered if the windshield wipers are on, or the backs are just spinning. I'm convinced this means a lot of warranty work is coming
Also, I heard today it's going to have just one seat for the driver... so, it's possibly nothing more than an NHRA legal Super Stocker, just like the last Challenger SS
