What? Is that a training wheel?

Mike already commented, but Steve found the original photo was officially captioned " A U.S. Navy North American SNJ Texan "taxi" trainer showing the nose gear attachment to prevent tipping forward while students were trained in taxiing aircraft."

  1. Yep sure is. lol. Seriously though. ask a pilot that has flown a "tail dragger" and they'll tell you that if you apply too much braking during landings, the plane will nose over and crash.

    1. I'm seeing hundreds of photos of that while I'm going though WW2 photos. Sure am finding good stories though. You still blogging about politics?

  2. I really appreciate what you're doing with the WW2 pics. The info and history is something I really look forward to day to day. As for my politics blog, nah. I noticed that my positions/insite were not very original. Seems I was just a part of the affirmation bias that tthrives online. I figured I wasn't going to change any minds or anything else that I thought was possible. I figure now that this country is so politically screwed. No one will talk to anyone of the other side other than to insult them. There's no exchange of ideas. I haven't seen anyone with an open mind (sure some say they have one...but really don't). So I decided not to waste my time, energy and passion on that. I'll pop some popcorn, sit back and watch it all come down.

    1. Huh, I never thought of it that way, an affirmation situation. We all do the things that please us, support the causes we believe in, and yell and cheer for our team. Huh... I wonder what their is out there to discuss with from like minded open minded people? I guess just filling in the people who haven't made up their minds yet, and give them both sides of the argument, sort of being a journalist, informational source. Glad you're enjoying the WW2 coverage, it's got me quite preoccupied. Damn thing is, I have to work all day on a job instead of combing though my 3 sources of cool old WW2 imagery for new cool stories to learn and share
