I suppose there was, but, good grief, I'm a two door guy. That four door love that Australia has with cars? I can't even comprehend why. Doesn't look right to me, like, trying to sign your name left handed. It can be done, but it's ugly, and why would you want to? I love Australia and Australians, been there twice when I was in the Navy, south west and north east, opposite sides, back in 98. But the 4 door thing? Drives me nuts to see people I like drive 4 door cars
Agreed, I think the HQ (silver and purple ish ones) are in the top 5 most beautiful cars ever. I may be biased as I grew up sliding around the back seat of a 4 door version.
Jesse, Its all about sales in Australia. The main manufacturers were GM and Ford and both were reluctant to design and release 2 door cars as they believed they wouldn't sell to make profits. When these 1970's cars were released we only had around 15 million population so most of there lineup were 4 door cars as they appealed to families.
Those Holden Monoros are really cool, there was even a 4 door version.
