my brother built a 1988 Fiero GT with a Cadillac 4.9 Aluminum block V-8 15 years ago. and its scary fast, and handled so good he sold both of his Corvettes
GM isn't that stupid, they got Obama to bail them out, they'll look at what everybody else is making and what they're selling for $, then they will make a crappy product that lasts 1/3 as much as the competition...NOTHING NEW HERE.

That's an excellent price point, though I suspect most Corvette people will buy one with another 10-20 grand worth of options.
