our granparents generations had a lot of maintenance to do to keep their vehicles in order, and wow, they needed garages to store all the stuff to do maintenance!

they may not have had a collection like this, but they did need a lot of everything. Boat stuff, gear oil for transmissions (everything leaked) gasket adhesive, lawn mower and outboard oils, car oil, bearing grease, diff heavy weight oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, air filters, oil filters... bicycle chain oil, inner tube patch kits... I'd love to walk into a garage that hasn't been cleaned or cleared out since the early 70s...
