today's salute is to Augie Karnes, who is too young for a drivers license, but putting together a vintage Harley anyway! Right on!

Somewhere in southern Illinois, this 9th or 10th grade guy is making a cool old Harley from parts he has scrounged up from here and there. Building it one part at a time from what I can see.

  1. Note the right side tank is an oil tank. A quick tell of a 45 incher. The two halves are not even. One fits inside of the other. These are great bikes. They're as fast as anything to about sixty, then they slow a little. Just as well, brakes are small. I like these little buggers.

    1. We got the red tanks from a servi-car we bought in Indiana, and then while we were up in Detroit and happened across those 2 fenders in a pile, as soon as We got home I called dibs on them because they were perfect for the bike and at the time I didn't have any
