a 1970 Dodge Charger was destroyed because the owner struggling to flip the vehicle for months. To prove his frustration, he even filmed the Mopar being crushed to send a message that enough is enough when it comes to no-good tire-kickers.

Or, he's not smart enough to pull the parts off it, donate it to a charity auction, etc etc... something useful and awesome.

Seriously, a boy scout troop, a high school shop class? They could have made this guy a star instead of a spiteful asshole

  2. Just out of curiosity what was the jerk asking for it? $10,000? $20,000?

    1. According to a post by Tire Meets Road, Gagliardi was asking $10,000 for the car. He was flipping it, and the only people he found interested in it, were other flippers, who already know there was no more meat on the bone, and wouldn't offer him anything close to his 10k asking price, they were all exactly like him, not interested in the car.
Who would be? No one wants to put 30k into that car. Damn few people can afford to, and those that can, can afford much better cars in better condition.
Flippers have run up prices, and all the cars in better condition have already been picked out of the wild and are already in collections, or in the hands of people that care about the car they have, not as an investment, but as a cool thing they will keep for life.
There's damn few good cars left to buy out there for reasonable prices... and they are instantly wrecked by flippers that just run up the price without adding any value

    2. Shit, try and find a decent VW. Only 10 years ago they all were snapped up as the last decently priced cool car.

    3. Most flippers know when they've burned themselves on a car and then the rule 'your first loss is your best loss,' applies. Lower the price get what you can and move on. But not this guy, he seems to think he's owed 'X' number of dollars for his efforts.

  3. Sadly he didn't loose much money, like he said " You can only rob them once" He still could have sold his thousand dollar car for double and made everyone happy but once a dick always a dick.

  6. Like you said Jesse, a High School, or a trade school where young men and women might never get a chance to touch a classic much less work on it. And then write it off on the taxes.

  7. I fee quite sure he didnt pay more than $800 for the car, maybe not that much, probably just paid scrap metal price, maybe $175

ive tried selling cars before and no one wants to pay what they are worth, everyone wants it for free.
Im just the opposite, I will let my cars rot to nothing, before I sell them to some flipper who will get rich on it.

look at that douche bag Wayne Carrini from the TV show Chasing Classic Cars,
he lowballed a guy selling a Stutz Bearcat, told the seller it was worth about $30K tops, then he quick flipped it for half a million
Id crush a car before I sold it to a flipper.
although, just putting it at an auction like Bring a Trailer will reveal the true value of a car.

    1. I posted about Carini ripping off the owner of that barnfind Stutz https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2016/08/how-much-does-high-bidder-think-wayne.html
Agreed, everyone wants you to give stuff away, however, sellers are just as deluded as to what things are worth, and you're absolutely correct, Bring A Trailer is a damn good source of real world prices.
I feel the same way about flippers, and have posted about that too
