waiting for the Mackinac Bridge to open for the very 1st time.

not just waiting for the novelty of going over a new bridge, but to avoid the damn ferry wait times.

I remember as a kid, and the one time as an adult that I've driven over it, that you know you're finally arriving in the right place when you get to the bridge. You're leaving behind all the asshole State Police that sit off in the woods on the sides of the interstate. There is no Interstate in the Upper Penninsula. You're leaving behind big cities, traffic jams, and assholes.

Up in the yoop, people are a hell of a lot friendlier, and when I lived there before graduating high school, even strangers waved hi as they drove by

  1. Google maps shows I75 extending through the Yoop to Canada.

    1. Gregg, does that prove me wrong? And was it worth your time to even type that? Or did my less than 100% accurate semantics result in you feeling intellectually challenged but then unable to semantically make your point 100% correct?
The interstate does not cross the yoop, it bisects the minor useless area by the locks. The yoop isn't served by an interstate traversing the length, or width, so whats the fucking point Gregg?

  2. Funny, I posted this photo from my collection a couple days ago on the Keyhole Bar & Grill facebook page and now it's all over the internet without credit to me or the Keyhole.

    1. Welll, that's your fault for commenting on here, without having the balls to use your name so you can be credited. You probably overlooked that, but, it's still true. You want credit for photos? Join the club. Either you watermark them, or, you put your name in comments when bitching about it, you savvy?
But then again, you're probably from the lower peninsula, not the yoop.

    3. And though you did fine at collecting a lot of photos, you don't seem to credit the sources, and if you won't respect them, why cry about anyone not respecting you as a source?

  3. And actually there are more state cops per square mile in the U.P. than there is in the L.P. There are 8 state police post once you cross the bridge including one right in St. Ignace.

  4. I've always heard the Skeeters are worst than the one's in Alaska...
Looks like a swell place to visit, as Alaska is, I'll stick with the Western States...Just because somehow I've gotten older and the gas prices kill me and my Winnebago..
    Ride on Jesse!

    1. I haven't met an Alaskan skeeter, but, I've dealt with the ones in Michigan, Texas, Hawaii, Florida, and California. So far, Texas has the biggest, the yoop has the fiercest. Hawaiian skeeters were the laziest and slowest.
