20 to 30 years after they had cheap color photography, why the hell were they still taking photos in black and white?

  2. Probably B&W because it was faster so you could grab action without super expensive gear. If you're at the track you want to be ready for action.

    1. Well, I'll be darned, I hadn't ever thought of the speed... but, isn't F50 just as fast in color as ISO 500 is in black and white? Damned if I know, I just put the camera on auto, trust that the engineers at Nikon know their shit, and push the button
