SpaceX launches world's most powerful rocket... what's it all mean? Well, today it means a test of the whole system, with a test payload of a Tesla car that will go orbit the sun. In the future it means, really heavy payloads are back on sched for launching in the USA

and here is what the car that now floats through space, looks like

short and to the point above, longer and much more indepth version below

  1. Landing the booster rockets was pretty sci fi as well

  2. I like Elon Musk's sense of humor. The nav screen on the Tesla Roadster says "Don't Panic", like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and he is working on another project, called the BFR, Big Falcon Rocket (cleaned up from the Big F-ing Rocket) that will carry about 100 people into space. He also got the Model S Ludicrous Speed mode from "Spaceballs".

    1. me too, but until you wrote them all together, I hadn't realized it was as long a list as that! Plus the Boring company
