you are probably familiar with Clarkson's pub, did you know that it's put a nearby 300 year old pub out of business?

 it's now for sale, (though it only re-opened in Oct 2023) which doesn't seem to be a good idea for a buyer, who then not only takes over a failed business, but in a town with incredible competition that's already put it out of business once.
