the Tanfield Railway is celebrating their 300th year of operating a railroad! (thank you Stephen!)

Tanfield Railway, is probably the world’s oldest railway (I'm not fact checking that) was built to transport coal from collieries in the Tanfield area to the River Tyne for shipment, and is in North East England. It has a vintage steam train with restored locomotives and unique Victorian carriages that takes tourists on a six mile round trip through beautiful rolling countryside and a spectacular wooded valley.
