cool '38 firetruck that has remained in San Diego, it was a lifeguard station rescue truck.. I can't figure out why the drivers side and passenger side rims have different pinstriping
Ever see a wallplate and electric outlets on a hood before? Me neither
FOMOCO fire extinguisher! I've never heard that Ford made these
The only reason that I can think for the different pinstriping is that at that time manufacturers built their vehicles with lug nuts that always opened by turning them forward. Thus, one side of the vehicle had counterclockwise studs and the other had clockwise studs.
Maybe they had two sets of wheels & tires for the truck and that was a way to mark them.
