80 years ago Jim DeBoer of Orange City, Iowa, started carving tractors, and he's still doing creating amazing John Deere

  1. I cannot thank you enough for finding this gent and presenting his documentary. Old Jim de Boer is a part of Americana. If we are fortunate, he will donate the collection to a museum that is situated where many people will see this artwork.

    1. awww heck, you ought to know that I'm so pleased to find such cool stories. But if you ever learn of a late 40s Harley that needs a good home, with a goofball that wants to take it apart, rebuild it a couple times, learn it inside and out, then fill the gas tank and find some great moments on the roads around the country. Well, that's a hope for a slow bike that's easy to learn and fix on the road.
      Anyway, I hope every time I turn on the laptop, that I'll find some great story, artist, vehicle, etc that just makes my day.
      It takes a LOT of looking to find good stories
