A car thief was arrested in Indiana after state troopers found a license plate “handwritten in crayon” on a paper grocery bag. No photo is online of that, but look at these others, similarly obviously fake

A meth head was arrested after a California motorcycle cop spotted his phony 1960s-style black plate with yellow wobbly writing of "Califas," instead of California, and a series of letters and numbers.

The driver, 41-year-old Jorge Salazar, had a small amount of methamphetamine in plain sight and an outstanding warrant for a hit-and-run.
