    1. The homeless camps, aka, downtown around 16th and Imperial, yeah.

But the rest I'm just not aware of in real non-hyperbole way. As to socialism, I don't even know what you mean as it relates to the real world, and not buzzwords used by people who constantly talk about politics

taxes? I don't know what taxes California has that most other states don't have.
What you didn't mention, what we do have that other states don't? An ocean breeze most days.
higher cost of gas because there are fewer oil refineries and a larger population, and the ol companies got a law passed that gas can't be imported
higher cost of milk because the dairy farmers coalition got a law passed that no milk can be imported
higher cost of rent because more people move here than move away
and ridiculous laws about guns because politicians suck and too many people wanted civilization instead of wild west, rapper thug life, and Chicago weekends. Not enough Texans moved here to keep our ability to open carry and or concealed carry. I suppose the 60s and 70s motorcycle gangs, and the unbelievable amount of drug trafficking from Mexico, were the cause of the ban of machine guns. I still think that is unconstitutional... hard to overthrow a tyrannical govt with bb guns. That's the only reason we have a 1st amendment. To give future American citizens the ability to discern when the govt needs to be removed from power, and the ability to do it.

    2. plus I'm seriously sure that I'll try to do one last lap of this country, and see friends, family, museums, and car shows, then settle into severe old age somewhere cooler and farther north. Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Michigan I think. PLaces with fishing, lakes, trees, and no deserts. I'm sick and tired of sun blasted rock.
