angry drunk who was out of control during take off, convinced the pilot to return to the airport they just left. He only had to waste 20,000 gallons of fuel and cost the airline $200,000. Surely, there has to be a simpler solution

About an hour into the angry behavior, the decision was made to turn the plane around.

The pilot had to burn off and then dump 20,000 pounds of fuel in order to land safely, according to the case statement read aloud in court last week.

Prosecution requested a $65,000 restitution order but the judge said he didn't want the court-ordered payment to bankrupt the defendant, David Young, age 44

WestJet's total losses — which include the cost of the fuel and compensation for its passengers — could be more than $200,000.

How about they just taze the uncontrollable person, then rope tie them like a calf, and tie off the end of the rope to the hand rails in the bathroom? Out of site, out of mind, carry on the flight to the destination.
