teen drifted into oncoming traffic, hit a semi head on, and lived, caught on video. Last week on Hwy 101, in New Hampshire

Samuel Lachance, 18, was reportedly traveling down Route 101 last Tuesday near Dublin, New Hampshire when his Jeep crossed over the double yellow and drifted directly into the path of a semi-truck trailer traveling the opposite direction. Lachance's vehicle collided with the massive truck, the force of the impact ripping open the trailer's fuel tank causing an explosion and fire, police said.

Video of the fiery collision was captured by Marc Cramer, who was driving behind Lachance when the incident occurred. Cramer and his son John managed to pull Lachance from the burning vehicle. Neither of the Cramers were injured in the accident.

Lachance suffered burns, cuts, and a traumatic brain injury, but doctors do expect the 18-year-old to recover. He was taken to Masschesetts General Hospital according to WCVB. The driver of the truck only suffered minor injuries.

  1. 101 used to be called Death Highway. They redesigned it about 20 years ago to stop this from happening. I guess not so much :(. That was frightening.

  2. Statistically speaking, what are the odds that a teen causing an accident, is distracted by his or her phone? By now it must have happened often enough for reliable info about that must be available. (Not saying the this kid was phone-distracted - in the last 45 years I've veered off lane myself too many times, but for other reasons than a phone).

    1. I have too, rarely did it ever have to do with a cell phone. I don't know about the stats... but since you're asking, I'll wait for you to let me know the answer, lol, as I'm too busy with other stuff to look that up
