    1. yes... it's one of the most exaggerated speech affectations in America. I'm pretty sure they work on making themselves sound ridiculous

  2. This is a good satire of the Boston accent in movies. At 1:23, Seth Myers says "Park the car in Harvard Yard" without the accent, because that is a phrase that really shows the Boston accent. They would say it as "Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd".

    Here's a skit where the Iranian president is making a movie and has to say "Park the car in Harvard Yard" in the Boston accent before every line to get it right.
