cool things with wheels since 2006
Jesse, I had that very same tool box. In 1967 I was building a '53 Studebaker in our back yard. Since I was working in dirt, jack-stands were of no use, so I used anything and everything to hold the car off the ground. I had the tool box setting next to me and it began raining, so I closed the lid. As I was getting up I realized the car was starting to slide off and I just shoved the box under to keep it from falling. I then went into the house and was so disgusted I let it sit there for a couple of days. When I finally got the box out, all it had suffered was a crease in the lid. All the drawers worked smoothly and I used it for many more years before giving it to my son-in-law about 12 years ago. He still uses it today.
They sure built things to last... and then the rotten buggers stopped building things well, but charging more and more, then it's a demand by people who appreciate such quality that raises the value and the prices to where only collectors who won't use a thing buy them.
And it was used when I got it.
