the Gapp and Roush Mustang II is up for auction at Mucem. Well, they didn't spell Gray Baskerville's name right, and I'm never spelling their name right, ever, ever again.

I just posted about this car in Sept 2017 http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-legend-himself-gray-baskerville-in.html so I was surprised to see it at auction... weird coincidence, after it's been obscure for decades

read the 2nd to last line. What retard screwed up spelling Gray Baskerville's name? Doesn't Mecum have REAL car people working there?

Seriously, he's a revered person in the car world, like Linda Vaughn. Neither raced or set records with cars, but they both earned a respect in the wide variety of the automotive world.

You simply don't disrespect either. You spell their names correctly. Every time.

When I went to interview at Hot Rod, and walked into the reception room that isolates the world from the corporate offices of Motor Trend, Hot Rod, etc etc,

I looked at the many trophies, plaques, and what not, there was only ONE photo in that room. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/01/in-reception-area-of-source-interlink.html

Gray's photo. That's respect.

  1. You nailed it, they dont have any 'car people' on the payroll! Just a bunch of employees rolling cars across an auction block for as much as they can get.... sad

    1. until I tire of it, maybe never, they are going to be known as Mucem on my site. Don't you think that getting Gray's name spelled right is a very simple thing? Even if they've never heard of him?

  2. Gray "Ol' Dad" Baskerville is one of the most beloved car guys of all time! I remember how devastated I was when he died.
