Todays WTF has a twist .... you get home... and have a mixed reaction ... it's caused by the damn mechanic who left this on your trailer hitch

Either you just scored his 10mm deep socket and impact driver,

or you've got to turn around and go back to return it to the idiot who needs it to make a living.

Damn.

  1. That's the new Brauer brand 20 volts being marketed by Harbor Freight, they're surprising 'very' good drills and impacts! Ask me how I know...

  2. Take the high road. You know it belongs to someone else.

    1. yeah, damn him, he'd waste your time making a round trip from where ever you were when finding that, to getting back to that spot... just to return it. That's potentially a waste of an hour or more you're not being compensated for, ditto the fuel

    2. and for what it's worth, I already pointed out that's what I would do, but I tell you, I'm getting tired of not getting jack squat from helping people when I return their stuff. Drivers license, soc sec card, and car keys/house keys in the past 12 months alone (that I can remember)... not even a christmas card!

  4. I like to think I'm not an idiot (all the time) but I once left a 10mm Snap-on ring under the rocker cover of a Honda CX500; the rider came back a week later complaining of a rattly top end. I was very embarrassed but VERY grateful to get the spanner back. It's still in my tool box 30 odd years later, complete with a flat worn on it by the casing. Tony

  5. I think I'd call the shop and if they want it back they can come and get it.

    1. Dang! Why didn't I think of that! Perfect solution! He gets his tools, and no one has to waste their time returning something they didn't want and didn't take

  6. You could only use it until the battery ran down, then you would have to buy a charger.
