I would not have guessed that I'd ever have a reason to post again about Magritte, but I just came across "The Anger of Gods"

 

I previously posted his iconic "Son Of Man" https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2022/02/the-beatles-had-commer-van-for-moving.html and had no idea that in Magritte's works there were any vehicles

Notice that with Magritte the picture only starts to make sense after you've read the title. Only then the full story is created by you, the viewer, within your mind. 

And almost certainly there’s a pun here on Dieux/Deux (Gods/Two.) and Colère might be punning on Courir, meaning run or race. So The Race of Two.
