I think they need to update their map, or I do. I'm kind of almost pretty sure that Metabo is owned by Hitachi. Didn't see Klein or Snap-On. there may be a reason but I don't care enough to do the research. (and that, ladies & Gentlemen, is an example which partially explains the steady systematic decline of western society)
nah, you just forgot that there are a couple companies that aren't owned by someone else. Snap On and Klein haven't sold out. So that's why they aren't on this map
Also, Hikoki is Hitachi (sort of). They split the tool business off from the main Hitachi brand, and took the Japanese company name "Hitachi-koki" and shortened it to make Hikoki
Never heard of them, and like I mentioned in the above reply, this is not a chart or listing of tool companies. THIS is a graph of what companies OWN other companies. Independent companies DO NOT show up as being owned by another company or corporation
Interesting to see that MAC tools are owned by Stanley. They are at both ends of the spectrum for perceived quality for their tools. It's smart business for them to be diversified, though.

DeleteI don't see Bahco on there. They are Swedish and claim to be the inventor of the adjustable Crescent type wrench.

ReplyDeleteStanley Black & Decker just bought MTD, who makes Cub Cadet and Troy-Bilt equipment, and Excel Industries, who makes Hustler and Big Dog mowers.
