SEMA is cancelled. Proof that 2020 is cursed and that the CDC failed to stop a damn flu virus when it had months of warning

The Specialty Equipment Market Association announced Wednesday it was canceling its annual Las Vegas SEMA convention because of COVID-19.

The show was planned for November, but “mounting uncertainty has rendered continuing with the event inadvisable.”

  1. You're blaming the CDC? Seriously?

    1. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a national public health institute in the United States. It is a United States federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services
Just exactly what about their title do you think exempts them them disease control and prevention?
Go ahead, ponder that, I'll be over here blogging until you tell me what you think it is they are supposed to be doing with their budget. Curing polio? Nope, already been done by Dr Salk. I can give more examples, but lets face it, they have one job, it's not to play the violin while Rome burns

    2. Here is their website description, that THEY made.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
      https://www.cdc.gov
As the nation's health protection agency, CDC saves lives and protects people from health, safety, and security threats.

  2. One can blame them for not standing up to the president, but maybe they feared for their jobs. Just like some did when the storm warning map for Alabama was modified with a sharpie.

  3. The CDC might not be perfect but, i blame the American Public. I have never seen such selfish behavior in my life. From the people that think covid is a hoax, to the people refusing to wear masks and social distance, to the hoarders of basic items, the american people have chosen greed & personal desires over health & safety of us all. It's our own fault things are the way they are.

    1. I take it you're not going to Sturgis this year. I'm not sure how many people will visit Mecca in the same time period that the bike rally is held, but even if there'll be more than the predicted 250,000 that will show up in South Dakota, they won't be hanging around in crammed bars much.

    2. Never have had much of a desire to see Sturgis, it's not even on my list of things to do. If I had a nice old 40s Harley, I might feel different. I expect it's a lot of rich posers, and angry originals. I'd much rather go to Goodwood.

  4. If only it was just a flu virus. Aside from the deaths, people are being left with life changing disabilities after having been infected and a "normal" flu virus doesn't do that.
