so. you heard and saw the Beirut explosion, a 2,750 ton (5.5 million pounds) shipment of ammonium nitrate had been in warehouse for six years without "preventive measures" in place to protect it. But did you see the video from the car on a nearby freeway?

and here's a link to the car video... until I find a copy I can embed

I still have yet to read an explanation of 5.5 million pounds of fertilizer being stored for 6 years

  2. Like a mini nuke... that ruins on left, eviscerated grain silos. 120 thousand tons of grain in max but "only" 15 thousand tons in time of explosion. Lebanon is just a sad story, armed conflicts, internal political instability (to put it mildly) economical collapse with 40% unemployment, corruption of epic proportions and virus... and now this. What next on the list? A damn asteroid strike?

The stockpile of ammonium nitrate was confiscated by the services after that... looks like nobody give a damn about what to do with it. She was often stolen so one of explanation is that explosion was effect of welding doors to stop such thefts. Lebanon is a mess, I would not be surprised if they just "forget" about that magazine... or try to make some deals on side and fuck up.
