So, today sucked and the company I work for laid off non essential employees. Me and a dozen others.

Lets see what tomorrow brings, as I take one day to just get laundry done, wash the car, check the Monopoly tickets from the grocery store for a winner, etc etc. Things I haven't made time for.

Then it's going to be time to decide to try to find a temp job for a month or so, maybe 2 months? Until things go back to normal. We've already been told the jobs will be there for us when things get back to normal, and go ahead and leave my stuff in my office.

As much as I'd like to use this as a vacation to get back to blogging like I was, since there is only a limited amount of time I can spread my last paycheck, and vacation pay, I'm definitely going to have to get a job to make it until things get back to normal.

I'l probably post even less while I'm job hunting. Sorry everyone. I like to find a website to just enjoy while kicking back and zoning out as much as I like making one. It's just a bad time to be too broke to not ride this out while sitting around enjoying the time off work

  1. If ever there was a time to make a donation for this fine publication.

You could always spend it on toilet paper.

Best of luck dude. See you on the other side.

    1. thanks! I think that time has proven that things only seem to get worse, after all, I've rarely felt that I've gotten lucky. It's been very very rare, like, my job was one and the place I rent a room right now, and meeting my best friends. So, a handful of things. Mostly, life just seems to only have a change for the worse. I guess it must make us more tough, and adapt to more difficult situations, and persevere through the changes.. but it really would dilute the incredibly good stuff, if the good luck ever really graced our lives more often. Maybe we wouldn't respect how wonderful the good stuff was if we had a lot of it.
Well, I am lucky to have 6 rolls of tp left on the shelf in my bathroom... because I always buy an 8 pack, so at least this past weeks hoarding morons didn't ruin my week like that.
And yesterday I was able to find a store that had a good supply of milk, so I won't be using up my cokes.
How's things for you? Doing ok, or are things all screwed up?
Were you set ok for now with what you already had?

  2. Aw jeez, man. That's too bad. Good luck in the job hunt and don't worry about the blog. We'll miss it, but it's not that important in relation to the other things in life.

    1. Thanks Al! I'll try to get a couple things posted a day, so everyone can get a little relief from the days bad news... but wow, this sure would be a great time to go full time blogging 15 hours a day so there would be an abundant supply of stuff for you and others to enjoy!
What better time to shine than when others need a light?

  4. Sucks man, I'm out from usual job on pay "vacations" bu at the same time got some side job that I did from home from time to time before so I'm mostly ok from money side. Have time to play all those games I have not touch for months/years now. My woman is not used to it and walks a bit on the walls trying to find a job. You know how it is with women, they still have to do something and they don't like it ... well, when there is nothing to do and you should put your ass down. I am an only child, I learned to organize my time long ago, she has two brothers and there was always something to do. Unusual situation, who would think that being the only child will have it's pros in such time.

I hope that you will go through this situation in ok state, it's not easy but you do you and carry on.

  5. Oh, that truly sucks:/ Is it due to the virus? Hope you we'll get the job back after this whole ordeal.

Maybe it's time to allow ads here, though? I don't like as much as the other guy, but you build quite a following here and in this times maybe it's time to use it?
best of luck, no matter what you'll choose.

  6. I join suggestion of ads. It would bring you some cash, probably not too much but every cent is good.

  7. Sorry to hear your news Jesse.
I understand your government is about to pass an aid package so I hope you're entitled to some of that.
Here in the UK the supermarkets are suddenly crying out for workers and offering about 20% more than their usual rate; they're down lots of staff due to self-isolation just as panic buying means they can't fill their shelves fast enough. Not very exciting work but maybe something similar is happening in the USA?
    Good luck.
    Tony
