On average, more than 7,200 vehicles are broken into in the city of San Diego each year. Of those, 97 percent are never solved, because the police have decided it's too hard to do their job, (of investigating and finding criminals) so they won't.

“We don't have a unit of officers assigned for break-ins,” San Diego Police Department spokesperson Lieutenant Shawn Takeuchi said. “The reason why is because it wouldn't be an effective use of resources.”

Mira Bella Apartment Homes 3455 Kearny Villa Rd
From 2014 to 2018, break-ins reported here grew by 166%

San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo's parking lot had the most vehicle break-ins since 2014

Mission Valley Mall
From 2014 to 2018, break-ins reported here grew by 30%.

Fashion Valley Mall
From 2014 to 2018, break-ins reported here grew by 78%.

UTC Mall
From 2014 to 2018, break-ins reported here grew by 77%

So, if you could just not bother the police to find and arrest criminals that they are already aware that they are ineffective and unwilling to investigate, that would be great. HmmK?
