Cycling for the soul is an age-old tradition

spin class on big wheels... I love it

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are Holmes And Watson

  1. I don't know. I think this isn't going to be as good as the Downey/Law team from the '09 and '11 movies "Sherlock Holmes." I liked them a lot.

    1. I did too, I was hoping that they would make a third, as so many Hollywood movies seem to need to be in box sets of 3. They did a great movie in the victorian times, and added enough punchlines and humor to keep it light, and adventurous. The tv show Sherlock, with Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch, is really good from the mystery aspect. It too seems to have ran it's course, not having any episodes in 2018.
I think the Ferrell and Reilly movie will be aimed at a younger, drunker audience, and might be okay, but Ferrell's sense of humor and delivery seems to be aimed at the long slow delivery. Not my style. He's a good actor when he's not trying to compete with Adam Sandler for weird drunk teen laughs.

    2. Agreed Jesse, and might I ad Ferrell's humor at times can be mean spirited, or at least the writers for the movies which Will seems to delight in.

On another note, there's been some talk about a third Sherlock Holmes with Downey in the lead roll again accompanied by Law. But that's been going on now for some time, and these guys ain't getting any younger. Would really be cool to see a new one though with some innovative steam punk platforms to salivate over.

    3. the nice aspect about Sherlock Holmes, no matter how old the actors get, they are still not too old to play a detective. Of course, Downey does the kung fu, judo, karate thing a lot, or boxing, and that would need to get toned down a bit, but if he were to do another Sherlock in his mid 60s, to late 70s, I doubt it would be too difficult. I expect he's simply too damn rich to want to work all that much anymore at staying in gymnast level condition for roles. The guy who was the lead in SOA, he said he was happy the sho was over so he could eat, that he was on a super strict low fat high work out regimen to maintain the abs, simply that, for the roles he wanted.
And now that Downey is worth hundreds of millions, and will continue to get money from syndicated play of the movies, etc etc, and he's been in about 18 of the Marvel Movies, I bet he's ready to retire and go have fun with race cars, homes around the world, and plenty of rich food.

    4. Hmm. Elementary my dear Watson. Well, that would be a shame if a third wasn't made, but I think you sum it up well Jesse. Pitty, it would have been grand.
