the 1926 Macchi M.39, known as la Macchina Nervosa in Italy, and as the Flying Flirt in the USA, winner of the Schneider Cup


Specially designed to win the 1926 Schneider Cup when Mussolini ordered it built to win at all costs. The left wing and pontoon were designed differently than the right side... in order to make the left turns and offest the engine torque.

They smuggled Italian wine into the USA in the spare float to celebrate the win.
