probably the only time a SR 71 was on the freeway

According to, the SR-71 seen in the photo – serial number 17958 – was retired in early 1990 and flown to Robins Air Force Base to be decommissioned and placed in the base’s Museum of Aviation. To get it from the hangar to the museum, however, it had to be towed, apparently down U.S. 129, the only four-lane highway we see in the area.

  1. Imagine explaining to your boss that the reason your late to work is that you are stuck in traffic behind one of the fastest vehicles ever

    1. Ha! Good one! yeah, "Hey Boss! I'm late again, but there's a good reason, .. yeah, there was a jet on the freeway... yeah, holding up traffic"
