those pipes on the rear quarters are there to house the tail and reverse lights.

Super Leggera means super light, aka made of aluminum

  1. Superleggera (in one word) technology by Carrozzeria Touring doesn't exactly mean aluminum but complex structural frame made from small diameter tubes covered by sheet metal for strength, light weight and freedom in constructing almost any desirable shape

    1. I can see that I did not say that Superleggera means aluminum. Maybe, and I'm going out on a limb, you can go back and read what I said, then decide if your criticism was good judgement, or just seeing if I'm in a pissy mood this morning and will oblige with a a snarky rejoinder

  2. Well i was just stupidly trying to be helpful. It's not about 'Superleggera' literally translating to 'aluminum' of course but about the phrase 'Super leggera means super light, AKA made of aluminum'. The thing is the main Superleggera technology feature is not the use of aluminum at all (lots of car makers used aluminum for body panels but nobody called it with some poetic Italian words) but their special 'wire frame' of very thin tubes. You can easily google it, the frame itself looked just like some 3D model, it was very innovative at the time. Sorry to bother you.

    1. Dude, I said it meant super light, it does. It's not technology, it was developed by guys with hammers, welders, english wheels, and planishing hammers. I don't need to google it, I already know about it. I'm not out to do anything more than caption the photo, and spread a tidbit of info. I seperated Super from Leggera so it was easily understood that super light was the translation. If you want to be helpful, fine, add to what I've posted, not misconstrue and criticize what I've done. I haven't seen your website about cars, and there is a reason for that. You don't have one. When you make one, let me know, I'll refrain from pointing out silly little things you did that don't please my sense of aesthetics.
