Anybody know what happened to Doug Jenkins Hot Rods? The place changed names to Precision Restorations with no reference to Doug. It there a new owner? Was there any problems with quality?

Doug sold out to a guy from maryland heights with no restoration experience.

  4. I know a couple guys that used to work at Doug's. both of them left because of how shady he was. Nothing was ever done correctly. Shaping fender quarter skins over existing rusted out and banged up quarter panels and just using body filler to hide it all. He charged insane amounts and paid his guys very little. He never stood behind his work and actually charged people to repair his screw ups and crappy work. By the time these guys left they told me the Doug owned very little of his own company. He kept blowing all his money and finding more and more investors to keep the business up and running. So to say he "sold out" may be accurate, but it was probably more like trying to break even with all the investors. Selling to someone with no experience is just as bad as Doug was. Maybe even a little better judging how awful his work was.

  5. Doug Jenkins is working from his house in House Springs, MO. I work for a local auto parts store and I see him quite often. Look him up online. He does great work.

  6. Don't know what Jeremy's talking about, Doug is a great guy and does very good work. I've worked with him for years and know some of his satisfied customers as well. He's working from House Springs now and his website is www.dougjenkinsgarage.com.

Doug is a SHYSTER extraordinaire! He has had my IH Pickup for 8 months, and won't give it back, won't give me a test drive, etc. BUYER BEWARE! I hear that he owes money to everyone. He might have been great a long time ago but his quality is CRAP now (11/2012). Oh yeah--he got my truck in an accident and won't fix the body work!!

  8. Well folks, we have had the misfortune of using Doug Jenkin's Garage. Our nightmare began Feb.2012. It is now Dec.2012 and the nightmare continues...

After 4 months, over $4000.00 of invoice charges, 3 unsuccessful deliveries, as the truck NEVER ran, and damaged caused in his care, we filed a dispute with our credit card company. After another 4 months, 24 pages of documentation to support our case, we won. They reversed the money back to our account. Doug Jenkins now holds the truck hostage, still demanding full payment before the truck is delivered. He has not repaired the damage to the truck while in his possession( by his own estimate of $1700).

His web site leads you to believe he has a fancy high tech garage, when in reality he is working out of his backyard garage in House Springs. My word of warning-Beware!

  9. I don't want to even go into it anymore but his guy is a complete scumbag. He charged me over $25,000 to do metal wide fenders and paint and RX7. He was suppose to take 3 months. The liar took over 2 years. The car has to be repainted, parts or installed wrong or incomplete. One of the fenders was already cracking and the car hasn't even been delivered. What a freaking piece of shite.
Hey Doug, I hope another tree falls on your ass. Seems these bad reviews are adding up.

    1. I had no clue a post about a shop doing videos, would become a list of the dirty laundry. Well, what the hell... as good a purpose as any

  10. Yep Jesse, the people, including myself felt so screwed over by the guy that any chance on the internet to expose his unethical business practices are jumped on.
    Thanks for the platform!

  12. A complete fraud. Avoid at all cost. Drop your car off at an impressive location near House Springs which actually belongs to a relative. He then drags it off into the woods, up a hill, over a Jeep trail and puts it in a barn...where the worst of Shade Tree mechanics takes place. Look up his place on Google Earth. Stay away!!
