the Torque Test Channel on YouTube tested a handful of methods and tools for removing oil filters... there's a CRUSHING tool out there which ain't satisfied until that damn filter is WRECKED! I love it!

 

The three-jaw style was capable of over 100 foot-pounds of twist on an oil filter. One of the filter housings began to spin at the pressed joint between the housing and the mounting plate. Of course, most of these tools destroyed the filter, which is fine if it is successful.
